Synthesis of [Re(η-C6H6)(η5-C8H11)], [Re(η-C6H6)(η5-C8H11)H]BF4, and [Re(η-C6H6)(η4-C8H12)Ph] using rhenium atoms: characterization by application of a modified heteronuclear 13C–1H J-resolved two-dimensional nuclear magnetic resonance experiment
Abstract
Co-condensation of rhenium atoms and a mixture of benzene and cyclo-octa-1,5-diene gives the compounds [Re(η-C6H6)(η5-C8H11)] or [Re(η-C6H6)(η4-C8H12)Ph], whereas co-condensation of rhenium atoms and a mixture of benzene and cyclo-octa-1,3-diene gives only [Re(η-C6H6)(η5-C8H11)]. A heteronuclear 13C–1H J-resolved two-dimensional n.m.r. experiment is described.
