Synthesis, characterisation, and reactivity of (η6-indene)(η-indenyl)rhenium: a precursor to hetero-bimetallic (µ-η36-indenyl) derivatives

Abstract

The compound [Re(η6-C9H8)(η5-C9H7)] formed by co-condensation of rhenium atoms with indene deprotonates with KH giving the ionic compound K+[Re(η6-C9H7)] which reacts with [Rh(η-C8H12)Cl]2 to from [Re(η5-C9H7)(µ-η6 : η3-C9H7)Rh(η4-C8H12)].
