Generation of σ-bonded and ionic C5H5 complexes from η5-cyclopentadienyl-palladium and -platinum precursors and their involvement in hydrogen–deuterium exchange phenomena

Abstract

[[graphic omitted]Ph)(η5-C5H5)](1) and its platinum analogue react with PEt3 in CDCl3 solution to yield σ-bonded and ionic cyclopentadienyl complexes, which undergo partial hydrogen–deuterium exchange with the solvent.
