Demetallation of [Cu(acacen)][acacen =N,N′-ethylenebis(acetylacetoniminato) dianion] by PhSNa produced the ion-separated dithiocuprate(I), {[Cu(acacen)]3Na}+[Cu(SPh)2]– containing two forms of the PhS– anion, as confirmed by a single crystal X-ray diffraction study.
