Conversion of ‘AICA-riboside’ into [15N]guanosines

Abstract

5-Amino-1-β-D-ribofuranosylimidazole-4-carboxamide (‘AICA-riboside’, 2) has been converted into [15N] guanosine [label either at N-1 (1b) or NH2(1c)]; the mechanism of formation the pyrimidine ring in the nucleoside has been elucidated.
