The preparation and crystal structures of platinum stacking compounds containing the S2N2H ligand: [Pt(S2N2H)(PMe3)2][PF6] and [Pt(S2N2H)(PMe2Ph)2][BF4]

Abstract

Reaction of cis-PtCl2(PMe3)2 with [Me2Sn(S2N2)]2 and [NH4][PF6] in dichloromethane gives [Pt(S2N2H)(PMe3)2][PF6], (1), or alternatively protonation of [Pt(S2N2)(PMe2Ph)2] yields [Pt(S2N2H)(PMe2Ph)2][BF4],(2); the crystal structures of (1) and (2) reveal that the planar cations stack with significant close interactions.
