A new addition of fluoroalkyl iodides to alkenes catalysed by raney nickel

Abstract

Addition of fluoroalkyl iodides to alkenes can be catalysed by Raney nickel under mild conditions to give adducts in good yields; a single electron transfer initiated free radical chain mechanism is suggested.
