Nitrite ion reduction to ammonia in illuminated aqueous suspensions of powdered semiconductors in alkaline sulphide solutions

Abstract

The photoassisted reduction of the nitrite anion to ammonia in alkaline aqueous sulphide solutions was achieved by illumination with visible light in the presence of suspended SrTiO3, TiO2, CdS, or CdS–ZnS.
