Intramolecular hydrogen-bonding affecting dioxygen binding to cobalt(II) porphyrins

Abstract

Dioxygen binding to CoII 1-naphthyl porphyrins substituted with amido, carboxy, and hydroxymethyl groups at the 8-naphthyl position displayed significant enhancements in O2 affinity which correlates well with H-bond strength.
