Abstract

The cocatalytic function of the potassium oxide promoter in Ru/K/Al2O3 catalysts in stabilizing formyl intermediates during synthesis gas (CO + H2) conversions has been concluded from in situ Fourier transform i.r. studies of gas-phase carbonylation experiments at high pressure.
