Molecular-beam infrared laser spectroscopy of CCLF3
Abstract
Spectra of the ν1 parallel band of CClF3 around 1100 cm–1 have been recorded in a supersonic jet using a diode-laser spectrometer. Vibrational hot bands present in the room-temperature spectrum are suppressed in the beam and well resolved isotopic structure in both P and R branches is observed. Measurement of relatively few P- and R-branch lines yields parameters in excellent agreement with earlier laser spectroscopy of CClF3 recorded in a low-pressure cell and based on many hundreds of transitions.
