Enthalpy and volume changes on mixing diethylene glycol di-n-alkyl ethers with diethylene glycol dimethyl ether or n-alkanes

Abstract

Enthalpy and volume changes on mixing diethylene glycol di-n-alkyl ethers (alkyl–oxyethylene–alkyl triblock oligomers) with either diethylene glycol dimethyl ether [oligo(oxyethylene)] or the C12, C14 and C16 n-alkanes have been measured at 31 °C. The results for these pseudo-binary mixtures are compared with those for binary systems, i.e. oligo-(oxyethylene)s + n-alkanes.
