Preparation, characterization, and physical properties of the series MPd3S4(M = rare earth)

Abstract

The synthesis, characterization, and physical properties of the ternary sulphides MPd3S4(M = rare earth metal) are described. The material LaPd3S4 has the ideal NaPt3O4 structure as deduced from Xray and neutron diffraction results. Comparisons between the isomorphous sulphides and oxides are presented.
