Synthesis and structure of a large mercury–cobalt–carbonyl cluster Hg9CO6(CO)18

Abstract

The novel cluster Hg9CO6(CO)18 has been synthesized from Hg[Co(CO)4]2, NaOH, and Hg(CN)2 in methanol-water and characterized by a single crystal X-ray determination.
