Determination of methoprene in poultry manure by high-performance liquid chromatography

Abstract

Residues of methoprene [isopropyl (2E, 4E)-11-methoxy-3,7,11-trimethyl-2,4-dodecadienoate] were determined in poultry manure at levels of 0.05, 1, 5 and 10 mg kg–1. Samples were extracted with acetonitrile and the extracts cleaned up by liquid-liquid partition and elution through a Florisil column. The mean recovery from spiked samples was 96.5%(range 91–104%). The lower limit of determination was 0.05 mg kg–1.
