Acidity of two dialkylhydrazine radical cations

Abstract

Pulse radiolysis reduction of 2,3-diazabicyclo[2.2.1]hept-2-ene (pKa 7.93) and 2,3-diazabicyclo[2.2.2]-oct-2-ene in water was used to determine the pKa values for the related dialkylhydrazine redical cations as 5.3 and 5.5 (± 0.5) respectively.
