Abstract
The reactions of the title compounds with cyanide to form [Ni(CN)4]2– take place by way of different parallel paths. The effect on the reaction rate of varying the concentration of CN–, HCN–, and OH– was studied at 25 °C and l= 0.1 mol dm–3. Some differences between the two isomers are observed. A mechanism for the two reactions is proposed.
