Intramolecular hydrolysis of co-ordinated acetonitrile in a binuclaer µ-amido-octa-amminedicobalt(III) complex

Abstract

Intramolecular attack by co-ordinated hydroxide on one metal ion at acetonitrile bound to the other metal ion in binuclear µ-amido-octa-amminedicobalt(III) species is observed under acid conditions to give a chelated acetamide product, established by X-ray crystallographic analysis.
