Novel trithioanhydride complexes of transition metals; X-ray crystallographic characterization of [(η-C5H5)(CO)FeSC(Fp)SCS(Fp)]SO3CF3, [Fp = Fe(CO)2(η-C5H5)]

Abstract

Nucleophilic addition of the thione sulphur atom in the complexes [FpC([double bond, length half m-dash]S)SMLn][MLn= Fp or Re(CO)5; Fp = Fe(CO)2(η-C5H5)] at the thiocarbonyl carbon atom in the complexes [FpCS]+ gives five-membered metallacycles [(η-C5H5)(CO)F[graphic omitted]S(MLn)]SO3CF3, ascertained by an X-ray crystal-structure determination of complex with MLn= Fp; the reactivity of the exocyclic sulphur atom has been studied.
