Stablization by a strongly acidic medium of trivalent copper tetra-aza macrocyclic complexes

Abstract

The otherwise unstable CuIII complexed with tetra-aza macrocycles (1)–(3) are stabilized in strongly acidic solutions; the CuIII complex with the diene macrocycle (1) shows a grater stability (in 10 M HClO4)than the corresponding NiIII complex, an inversion of the normally observed trend.
