Quinolizidine alkaloid biosynthesis: incorporation of [1-amino-15N, 1-13C]cadaverine into lupinine
Abstract
Two [1-amino-15N, 1-13C]cadaverine (4) units are incorporated into lupinine (5), but only one 13C–15N doublet is observed in the 13C{1H} n.m.r. spectrum, demonstrating that the later C5–N–C5 symmetrical intermediate such as the triamine (7) is not involved in lupinine biosynthesis.
