Synthetic applications of tricarbonyl-η6-arenechromium (0) complexes: the synthesis of benzo-fused heterocycles

Abstract

The reaction of tricarbonyl-η6-(2-fluorolithiobenzene)chromium(0) with bifunctional electrophiles produces a multistep cycloaddition reaction which generates 5-, 6-, or 7-membered benzo-fused heterocycles. The scope and limitations of the process are described.
