Enthalpy and volume changes on mixing oligo(oxyethylene)s and n-alkanes

Abstract

Enthalpy changes at 31 °C have been measured on mixing di- and tri-ethylene glycol dimethyl ethers with selected n-alkanes in the range decane to heptadecane, and volume changes at 31 °C on mixing diethylene glycol dimethyl ether with the n-alkanes. The experimental results are compared with the predictions of Prigogine–Flory theory.
