Molar volumes and mobilities of some divalent transition-metal cations in dimethylformamide

Abstract

The apparent molal volumes and molar conductivities are reported for the MnII, CoII, NiII and ZnII perchlorates in dimethylformamide solution at 25 °C. The limiting molar conductivities and molar volumes of the cations are derived and discussed in terms of the nature of the solvated complexes existing in solution that are responsible for charge transport due to the cations.
