Matrix isolation studies on alkali metal arsenates: the characterisation of molecular CsAsO3

Abstract

The matrix i.r. spectra obtained from the vaporisation of samples of potassium, rubidium, and caesium arsenate show characteristic bands due to the species MAsO2 and new features which are assigned to molecular arsenates MAsO3. For CsAsO3, fundamentals are assigned at 978.2, 923.4, 880.0, 368, and 335 cm–1, and 18O enrichment experiments indicate a C2v bidentate structure.
