Stereocontrolled synthesis of gorgosterol

Abstract

Gorgosterol (1), a C30 marine sterol containing cyclopropane in the side chain has been stereoselectively synthesized utilizing orthoester Claisen rearrangement and intramolecular alkylative cyclopropanation.
