Novel carrier molecules for ‘up-hill’ transport of metal picrates

Abstract

N–N Ylides have been synthesized for novel use as carrier molecules to transport metal picrates and organic anions through a liquid membrane; potassium picrate was successfully transported against its concentration gradient.
