Spherands vs. nonspherands containing two methoxycyclohexane units

Abstract

The superb complexing ability and preorganized cavity of the spherand (MeC6H2OMe)6 is destroyed by the substitution of two methoxycyclohexane units for two pseudo-para methoxytoluene unit of the spherand.
