Reactions of π-allyltricarbonylhalogenoiron complexes and synthesis of new organoiron compounds
Abstract
The reactions of [Fe(CO)3(η3-C3H5)X](X = Br or I) with Ag[ClO4] in dichloromethane yielded the perchlorate-bonded complex [Fe(CO)3(η3-C3H5)(OClO3)](3). Complex (3) is a suitable precursor for the synthesis of the cationic complexes [Fe(CO)3(η3-C3H5)L][ClO4](L = PPh3, AsPh3, and pyridine). [Fe(CO)3(η3-C3H5)(PPh3)][ClO4] reacts with univalent bidentate ligands (L′= acetylacetonate 8-hydroxyquinolinate, and N-phenylsalicylaldiminate) to give the neutral complexes [Fe(CO)(σ-C3H5)(PPh3)L′].
