A structural and spectroscopic characterization of [Pt3(PPh3)3(µ-PPh2)2(µ-H)][BF4]·2CH2Cl2

Abstract

The previously reported cationic cluster [Pt3(PPh3)4]+ has been shown to be [Pt3(PPh3)3(µ-PPh2)2(µ-H)]+ by X-ray structural analysis and 3lP n.m.r. studies. The presence of a bridging hydride ligand could not be detected in the X-ray structural determination nor by direct 1 H n.m.r. studies, but was unambiguously established by 31P and 31P-(1H) n.m.r. measurements at 145.8 MHz.
