Quantum theory of the processes of charge transfer. Recent advances

Abstract

A new aspect of the interaction of an electron with the polarization of the surrounding medium is discussed. Effects caused by the modulation of the electron wavefunctions by fluctuations in the polarization are considered. New methods of calculating the transition probability are presented. They permit one to take in to account the effects mentioned above and to go beyond the Condon approximation.
