‘Naked fluoride’ masked: n.m.r. evidence for tight ion pairs in Kf–crown ether

Abstract

19 F N.m.r. spectra of solutions of KF–18-crown-6 in a variety of organic solvents show ca. 6kHz line widths essentially indistinguishable from those of solid KF suggesting tight ion pairs or higher aggregates in solution.
