E.s.r. spectrum of the N-nitroso-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine radical cation electrochemically generated in solution

Abstract

A radical cation generated electrochemically in acetonitrile at 243 K from N-nitroso-2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine gave an e.s.r. spectrum with the largest known nitrogen hyperfine splitting constant for an organic compound (45.0 G) and with long range couplings to hydrogen atoms.
