Catalytic hydrogenation of ethylene with (H)Os3(CO)10(OSi[triple bond splayed right]): spectroscopic evidence for a cluster catalysed reaction

Abstract

(H)Os3(CO)10(OSi[triple bond splayed right]) is a catalyst for ethylene hydrogenation at 353 K; spectroscopic evidence is given for the reversibility of ethylene co-ordination with the cluster, and for the complete catalytic cycle of C2H4 hydrogenation.
