A general method for the preparation of crystalline iron(III) and gallium(III) catecholamides: X-ray crystal structure of dipiperidinium bis (ethyl 2,3-dihydroxybenzoylglycinato)(pentane-2,4-dionato)-ferrate-tetahydrofuran

Abstract

The synthesis of crystalline or microcrystalline iron(III) and gallium(III) catecholamide chelates of the type X₂[M{2,3-(–O)₂C₆H₃CONR¹R²}₂(acac)](Hacac = pentanedione) and X₃M{2,3-(–O)₂C₆H₃CONR¹R²}₃][X = piperidinium (pip) or tetrabutylammonium cation], and the X-ray crystal structure of [pipH]₂[Fe{2,3-(–O)₂C₆H₃CONHCH₂CO₂Et}₂(acac)]–tetrahydrofuran are described.
