A di-bridged redox reaction involving transfer of two different chelating ligands to chromium(II)

Abstract

The reduction of bis(2,2′-bipyridine)pentane-2,4-dionatocobalt(III) perchlorate by chromium(II) proceeds 81% by a di-bridged inner-sphere pathway in which two different ligands (Pentane-2,4-dione and 2,2′-bipyridine) were both transferred to the reductant.
