An α-diazophosphonic acid monoester: synthesis, stability, and unexpected photochemical behaviour

Abstract

The α-diazophosphonic acid monoester salt Et2NSO2C([double bond, length half m-dash]N2)P(OMe)O2Na+ was synthesised and shown to undergo rearrangement to Et2NSO2CH2OPO3Me2 on photolysis in methanol (λ > 300 nm).
