Cationic formyl complexes of ruthenium(II)
Abstract
Low temperature reductions of [Ru(CO)2(P–P)2][SbF6]2[P–P = Ph2PCH2PPh2(dppm) or (Ph2PCH2)2(dppe)] with NaHB(OEt)3 or LiHBEt3 afford the formyl complexes, [Ru(CHO)(CO)(P–P)]2X (X =[SbF6]–or [BEt4]–), which are fully characterised by spectroscopic means.
