Extraction and analysis of interstitial water from sandstone

Abstract

This paper describes the laboratory work undertaken to develop a technique for extracting the interstitial water from borehole core samples of sandstone using a high-speed centrifuge. The effects of operating conditions and aspects of sample handling and preparation on recovery and potential contaminants are considered.
