A carbon-13 nuclear magnetic resonance study of ristocetins A and B and their derivatives

Abstract

A detailed assignment of the 13C n.m.r. spectra of ristocetins A and B, and several derivatives, is given. The assignment not only defines hitherto doubtful configurations at anomeric carbons of the carbohydrate portion, but also paves the way for 13C biosynthetic studies.
