The photoconversion of spiro [benzofuran-2,1′-cyclohexa-3′,5′-diene]-2′,3(2H)-diones (grisa-3′,5′-diene-2′,3-diones) to dibenzofurans is described, and a mechanism for this reaction is proposed.
