Abstraction of chlorine and bromine atoms from alkyl halides by the trifluorosilyl radical

Abstract

A competitive technique has been used to study the relative rate of abstraction of chlorine and bromine from alkyl halides by trifluorosilyl radicals in the gas phase between 439 and 570 K. The relative Arrhenius parameters obtained are shown in table 2. Trifluorosilyl radicals are less reactive than either trichlorosilyl or trimethylsilyl radicals studied previously.
