Bis(3-cyanopentane-2,4-dionato)dihalogenotin(IV) complexes

Abstract

Bis(3-cyanopentane-2,4-dionato)dihalogenotin(IV) complexes, SnX2(cpd)2(X = Cl, Br, or I), have been prepared. While the 3-cyanopentane-2,4-dionate anion is a trifunctional ligand, spectral data are consistent with the SnX2(cpd)2 complexes being six-co-ordinate having oxygen-chelated β-diketonate ligands; evidence does not suggest a metal–cyanide interaction.
