The d-electron optical activity of tetrahedral dichloro[(–)-spartein]-cobalt(II)

Abstract

The absorption and circular dichroism spectra of the title complex, [CoCl2L1], have been recorded over the range of the dd transition manifold, 2 000–20 000 cm–1. The spectra are discussed in terms of the dynamic ligand-polarization mechanism for dd transition probabilities.
