Analysis of the luminescence spectra of some uranates

Abstract

In this paper the luminescence spectra of Y₆UO₁₂, Li₄UO₅, Li₂UO₄, and MgUO₄ are discussed. Emission and excitation spectra and the decay time of the luminescence have been measured at low temperatures (T < 10 K). The vibrational structure which is observed in the emission spectra of the investigated uranates is analysed. The electronic transitions observed in the excitation spectra are assigned to charge-transfer transitions within the intrinsic uranate groups.
