Formation of (η-cyclopentadienone)tricarbonyliron on the photolysis of (η-cyclobutadiene)tricarbonyliron in a carbon monoxide matrix at 12 K

Abstract

I.r. spectroscopic evidence, including 13CO labelling and energy-factored force-field fitting, is presented to show that photolysis of (η4-C4H4)Fe(CO)3 in a CO matrix at 12 K leads to the formation of (η4-C5H4O)-Fe(CO)3.
