Grunwald–Winstein plots exhibiting a maximum. Solvolysis of methyl perchlorate

Abstract

Maxima are observed in Grunwald–Winstein plots for the solvolyses of methyl perchlorate in aqueous acetone and aqueous dioxan; they may be associated with the unusual solvation characteristics of the perchlorate ion.
