Distribution of ions in electrolyte solutions and plasmas. Part 2.

Abstract

Using methods developed in Part 1, the plasma coefficients (H(n)ji) of the binary distribution function for ions in a dilute solution are determined to the order ε3 for symmetrical and ε2 for unsymmetrical electrolytes. Only in the limit t→ 0 is the Kirkwood Superposition principle rigorous to the first order in ε. Where t is finite. Fijk=FjiFjkFik{1 +[zizjGV3(x)+zjzkGV2(x13)+zizkGV1(x23)]ε+O(ε2)}, where GV2, GV3 and GV1 arise from exclusion volume effects.
