Non-monotonic functions of the spatial correlation of the polarization fluctuations of the medium are proposed. The non-monotonic character of these correlation functions leads to the non-monotonic behaviour of the screening factor for the field of a point charge. Interpretations as well as raisons d'être of the proposed models are discussed.
