Theory of adsorption from multicomponent liquid mixtures on solid surfaces and its application to liquid adsorption chromatography

Abstract

The theory of adsorption from multicomponent liquid mixtures on energetically homogeneous and heterogeneous solid surfaces has been developed using the prevailing approaches to this problem and utilizing the theory of mixed-gas adsorption. The general isotherm equations have been derived and applied to evaluate the distribution coefficient characterizing the process of liquid adsorption chromatography with a multicomponent mobile phase.
